The President Calls Loved Ones of Shot Military Personnel to White House

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the White House.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Background on the Heartbreaking Event

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The president said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president told reporters. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Reaction

Community members assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the head of her former high school, stated to the press. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Service plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy led the Trump administration to suspend asylum applications and cease issuing entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Condition of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, according to the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Morrisey said on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit the family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” he told the audience at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
