Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Shot Dead in Johannesburg.
A popular South African media personality and entertainer has been fatally gunned down in the nation's economic hub Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a country battling persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the city centre on the afternoon of Tuesday.
Officials stated the 40-year-old entertainer was accosted by a trio of assailants, one of whom began shooting at him before running away.
The reason of the incident remains unclear and no suspects have been apprehended have been made, as per the official statement.
The Fatal Incident
Authorities revealed that Stock was ambushed as he was exiting a location close to the city center landmark.
He had spent several hours at the property managing the setup of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by unknown people, it was reported.
"Authorities believe the deceased was approached by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they opened fire at him before running from the location on foot," authorities stated.
Security camera video reportedly depicted a suspect with dreadlocks and wearing what looked like a security uniform firing shots on Stock before fleeing.
The DJ attempted to flee after he was shot but collapsed across the street.
