Iran Reports Assault on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
