Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Finn, who featured in beloved programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA on Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a announcement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
